Your data, handled carefully.
How theCollectionHub collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect
Email address, display name, password (stored only as a salted hash) and any profile details you choose to add.
Delivery name, postal address, contact phone or email, order contents, order history and fulfilment status.
Handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, CVC or expiry — we retain only a payment reference, the amount and the outcome.
Cards you add to your collection, acquisition values you enter, and items you mark as available for trade.
IP address, device and browser type, and basic usage logs used to keep the service secure and reliable.
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To take payment, ship your order and handle returns or refunds.
- To provide collection tracking, valuations and the trade board.
- To send transactional messages such as order confirmations and dispatch notices.
- To detect fraud, prevent abuse and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud checks.
- Carriers — Australia Post and courier partners, for delivery and tracking.
- Hosting and email providers — to run the site and send order emails.
- Law enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to do so.
We never sell your personal information. Some providers store data overseas; we only use providers with comparable privacy protections.
4. Security and retention
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit records to the account they belong to. Card details are never stored on our systems. We keep order and tax records for seven years as required by Australian law, and delete or de-identify other personal information once it is no longer needed.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and understand basic site usage. You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in and checkout will not work without them.
6. Accessing, correcting or deleting your data
You can view and update most details from your profile page. To request a copy of your data, correct something we hold, or close your account, email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
